On this rock I shall build my church

Part 2

Pastor Elias Moreroa

Romans 9: 30-33

What shall we say then? That gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness,

have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness of faith; but Israel, pursuing the law of righteousness,

has not attained to the law of righteousness. Why? Because they did not seek it by faith, but as it were,

by the works of the law, for they stumbled at that stumbling stone. As it is written:

“Behold, I lay in Zion a stumbling stone and rock of offense, and whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame”

Those who did not have a chance to serve God are given a chance to do so by only confessing Jesus as Christ the son of the living God.

It is wonderful to realise that because we have attained favour from our God because of what our Lord Jesus did on the cross of Calvary,

now we have eternal life. This is the church that Jesus promised to build on this wonderful confession.

We can belong to this church by only believing in our Lord Jesus Christ. To those Israelites it is a stumbling stone,

but to us it is the power of God and the wisdom of God.
